She Is Worth The Truth is an artistic experience of honesty, awareness, and self-reflection. This immersive exhibit is an invitation for tough discourse and fierce vulnerability around “what it means to be a woman.”
Alex Diffin and Eric Michael are two contemporary artists who formed a duo by the name of D.A.M.E. They came together to bring a series of paintings and interactive installations exploring the double standards women face in society. How does our perception of femininity affect our self-view, self-respect, and self-esteem? The oppressive nature of gender is subtle and pervasive. D.A.M.E looks to create a modern iteration of classical paintings that question the preconceived standards of beauty to create a discussion about gender equality and body obsession.
Their vision is to create a welcoming sanctuary where women have a platform to share their wisdom, guidance, and insights to others; a place where a young girl can be introduced to this conversation without opposition or boundaries because She Is Worth The Truth.
The arc of history bends toward justice. Protest art just speeds things along. Protest art afflicts the comfortable, and comforts the afflicted...
